MTA Records' 5-Year Compilation is an Education in Modern UK Dance Music

From underground to upfront, MTA has been the cutting edge since inception.

In 5 years alone, MTA Records has laid claim to the throne of upfront UK dance music and, straight up, there's no competition. Founded by crossover superstars Chase & Status, the label has launched the careers of everyone from Nero to Kove to Josh Butler towards mainstream attention. Yeah, the same label responsible for Nero's "Promises" also put out the Josh Butler's ubiquitous "Got a Feeling" and Kove's feelsy dnb classic "Searching." Excellence, indeed.

The MTA catalogue features a vast breadth of releases that defies categorization and instead functions as a cultural yearbook of what upfront UK dance music has been over the past few years. This compilation lays that variety out like a Christmas spread. For every headbanging chugger like 16Bit's "Dinosaurs," there's a deeper house groover like Moko's "Your Love." For every pop-charter like Nero's "Crush on You," there's an underground classic by Moody Good. That kind of variation and class is a rarity.

As the label turns 5, we've got the exclusive on a 30 track compilation that charts their course from inception to present day. It's an experience and an education. Check it:

The label are marking their big day with MTA5, a series of five events that will celebrate MTA acts far and wide.
