Sturgill Simpson is nominated for Album of the Year at tonight's Grammy Awards, an outside shot for a country luminary to take one of the evening's biggest honors. And if his grand performance of "All Around You" earlier in the evening was anything to go by, it'd be hard to begrudge him the award. Introduced by Dwight Yoakam, he performed alongside the horn section of The Dap Kings, the late Sharon Jones' band. It came together seamlessly with Simpson, as ever, understated in his performance, allowing the quiet grandeur of his country lyricism to come through.
