The sports scandals just keep coming. This time it's tennis' turn. A BBC and Buzzfeed joint investigation revealed that 16 players, including grand slam winners, have thrown games.

Novak Djokovic has since come forward to reveal that he has been approached by match fixers during his career.

Meanwhile, the Australian Open began today.

Formula 1 head honcho Bernie Ecclestone is back in the press for saying stupid things. This time, he said female drivers in F1 "wouldn't be taken seriously." As The Independent points out, his said all this on the same day former F1 reserve pilot Susie Wolff launched a program to help women in racing.

Wayne Rooney set a new record.

The goal in question, which gave United a 1-0 lead over Liverpool, came after 80-some-odd minutes of Liverpool domination. Klopp was not impressed.

Elsewhere in Europe, the long list of Barca/Real Madrid training matches otherwise known as La Liga continued apace, with 5-1 and 6-0 wins for Real Madrid and Barcelona, respectively.
