Nothing like a nice long smoke at the end of a day's work, right?
We're not talking about a pack of cigs, a bong hit, or even your super sick new vape pen, bro. We're talking about the joyful smokiness of Scotch and mezcal. When a sip of either hits your throat, your brain just smiles languidly and goes, Ahhhh.
But it's fair to want to take it easy sometimes, and smoked tequila gives you the same flavors of charcoal and agave as mezcal without knocking you off your feet. This cocktail comes courtesy of Gustavo Ortega-Oyarzun of NYC's Black Ant, and it's as complex as it is boozy and refreshing. In addition to making great use of smoked tequila, it incorporates tropical flair from guava purée, some citrus tang from Giffard Pamplemousse Rose and lemon juice, and a serious kick from ginger liqueur and a Tajin rim.
The best part: You won't even have to step outside for a smoke—you can enjoy one right in your kitchen.
