Christian Ponder Intercepted on Consecutive Series

Christian Ponder and the Vikings are having a rough night.

Christian Ponder is starting for the Vikings and, boy, is he having a rough night. In one half of play Ponder threw two interceptions on consecutive drives and has a total of 60 yards, two interceptions, and has completed less than half of his passes. Julius Peppers got the first interception and returned it 49 yards for a Packers touchdown. It was a bit of bad luck, as Ponder's arm was hit as he threw, but things would actually get worse. On the first play of the next drive, the Vikings went safe: a Matt Asiata run. On the second play, Jamari Lattimore picked off a throw that Ponder threw behind Jerick McKinnon.

The Packers took over on the Minnesota 20-yard line and scored quickly again, on an 11-yard pass to Davante Adams. As hapless as Ponder has been, Aaron Rodgers has been in total control. He finished the half with 112 yards and three touchdowns. After giving up two easy touchdowns, the Vikings took the ball back again, and promptly coughed it up again. This time it was an Asiata fumble, making it three straight turnovers in four minutes. The Packers lead 28-0 at the half. Good grief.
