Monaco Looks Like a Dollhouse in Tilt-Shift Timelapse

Observe the hustle and bustle of an entire country.

Did you know that Monaco is the second smallest, but most densely populated country in the world? It has a total population of about 37,800 people, all living in an area of 0.78 square miles. The cramped little country on the French Riviera is technically classified as a mini-state.

This 4K timelapse video, shot using the tilt-shift technique, makes the tiny principality look like an overwhelmingly intricate miniature model. It might look like Chris Burden’s Metropolis II, but those are real people moving down there.

This short was brought to us by director and producer Joerg Daiber along with his production team spoonfilm, an award-winning and internationally broadcast label of short filmmakers that got its name from a scene in the first Matrix movie. Daiber’s film was published by the internet’s premiere tilt shift channel/conglomerate, Little Big World, a YouTube series that showcases numerous ‘miniature faking’ films and projects.
