Yasiel Puig Kills Jared Goff With Kindness

Yasiel Puig doesn't care that Jared Goff wished him violence. He just wants to be friends.

Jared Goff was selected No. 1 overall last night by the Los Angeles Rams. Way back in July 29 of 2013, Jared Goff tweeted a fairly mean tweet about Los Angeles Dodgers right fielder Yasiel Puig. Goff tweeted that he hoped Puig suffered bodily injury at the hands of an opposing pitcher.

Judging by the date of the tweet, it appears that Goff did not like the way Puig celebrated his first Dodgers walk off home run on July 28 by sliding into home plate.

Now that Goff is the latest sensation in sports, the tweet quickly made its way to Puig's attention.

I really hope Yasiel Puig gets a fastball in his ribs tomorrow

But did Puig respond with like-minded violence? No, Puig extended an olive branch to his fellow Los Angeleno and an invite to a Dodgers game.

@JaredGoff16 Big hug, Welcome to LA, I show you around, be my guest to @Dodgers game #PuigYourFriend #PuigNotLate https://t.co/85B1djlAGM

I've spent my whole life without #puigyourfriend in my life and I don't know how I made it.

Goff has already proven himself to be a savvy entrepreneur, what with his five million sponsored tweets that seemingly appeared before he even finished bro-hugging Roger Goodell, so hopefully he sees the error of his ways and we get a good Buddy Cop film franchise out of this. Or at least a nice Palmolive ad.
