Cardinals Score on Classic Flea Flicker, Which Proved Ultimately Useless

Larry Fitz's hustle should be getting all the credit.

The Arizona Cardinals are playing some classic backyard football. It's like someone's dad is playing QB and decided to pull one over on uncle John Fox.

But the Cardinals' flea flicker only confused the Bears' D so much. Meanwhile, Larry Fitzgerald was getting mugged in the end zone by a Bears defenseman who had additional coverage just feet away from him. Come to think of it—just like some backyard play—that flea flicker didn't seem to do any good at all.

Fitzgerald worked his ass off to pull that one out of thin air, and now all the credit is going to go to the play call and the QB, when in actuality, that whole sequence could have happened without that fancy pants play. Larry Fitz would have been the hero. In hindsight, this whole play now just seems like some fucked up head game.
