The Sahara's Forgotten War (Part 5)

VICE News goes to Tifariti, a city in the liberated territories.

In Part 5, Polisario Commander Ahmed Salem shows VICE News around Tifariti, a city in the liberated territories he describes as being completely destroyed by the Moroccan Army after the 1991 ceasefire. We meet victims of the 7 million land mines that surround the Moroccan wall before Salem drives us to a UN base in the liberated territories. The UN established a mission after the ceasefire to promote peace and organize a referendum, but its failure to do either amid continued human rights abuses in the occupied territories has infuriated the Polisario.
