"Turn my brain off / Do dumb shit / Get fucked, and die quick / Get lost, in the abyss" howls Fucked And Bound vocalist Lisa Mungo on "Party Void," a short, dark track midway through the Seattle hardcore band's short, dark debut. It's as good a lyric snippet as any to draw you into this shiny new band's grimy new album, Suffrage; their nihilistic life-sucks-fuck-off ethos is shot through with feminist rage, scattered breakdowns that would make Dying Fetus proud, and a certain working class sensibility that surfaces on songs like "#GTFO" when Mungo snarls, "Make you something really stiff? / With one shot? / Yeah, I’ll get right on that" at imagined obnoxious bar customers with palpable frustration and contempt.

Fucked And Bound's name may be provocative enough to get it censored in promo materials, but in the greater canon of extreme music, it's pretty par for the course—with the added bonus of not being racist or misogynistic!—and fits their general mien to a T. This is hardcore punk with an emphasis on -core—flitting between hardcore and grindcore, holding fast to the most aggressive, pummeling bits of both. You can almost feel the flecks of Mungo's spittle hit your face as she roars, clawing through a thicket neck-snapping riffs and explosive percussion. It's the sound of a woman who is really, truly, 100 percent fucking DONE with your shit,

Tracked and mixed by Robert Cheek at Electric Wall Studios and ExEx Audio, mastered by Blake Bickel at Dynamic Sound Services, and graced with Brian McClelland's design skills, Suffrage really is the total package if you're in the market for speedy, satisfying brutality (bonus points if you're in the service industry and need a personal anthem for those long, hard nights).

Listen to all twenty-three minutes of Suffrage below, and snag a copy of the record from Atomic Action Records on February 16.
