Ten Scenes of Epic Destruction, Courtesy of Greys

From 'Demolition Man' to 'Robocop'. So many explosions, so much chaos. The Toronto band gets it right.

Earlier this month, the Toronto band Greys released a video for their song “Guy Picciotto” which featured an amp being dropped off a huge building. A cool idea, except they cut it off right at the best part—the smashing! Way to blue-ball our inborn desire to see shit get destroyed, bros! We asked them to make it up to us by listing their ten favorite destruction scenes from movies which you can check out below. Oh, and they were also nice enough to hook us up with the deleted destruction footage from "Guy Picciotto" which is below in all its smashingly smashy glory…

Robocop - Toxic Waste Monster

We haven't seen the new Robocop movie (nor do we intend to) but it's a safe bet that it doesn't contain any of the wonton destruction found in Verhoeven's original movie. It has so many brutal moments that we considered doing a list of scenes solely from this movie, but we decided on the toxic waste guy because… duh.

Holy Mountain - Toad and Chameleon Circus

The destruction of wax Jesus sculptures is pretty wild but exploding lizards in Knights Templar armor is fucking batshit, as is the rest of this movie.

Terminator 2 - Nuclear Park

From the looks of this dream, Sarah Connor can be adequately described as a pessimist. Lighten up, lady! Robots aren't that bad!

Demolition Man - Frozen Snipes

This is obviously pilfered from T2's "Hasta la vista" scene, but Stallone kicks Snipes' head right off, and that rules. Also, this movie is totally underrated. Three sea shells!

Scanners - Head Explosion

Fulfilling the Canadian Content obligation, here's Cronenberg's crowning achievement (pun intended!).

Casino - Pesci at Bat

Spoiler alert! We were going to use the scene from Raging Bull where Jake La Motta gets pummeled by Sugar Ray Robinson, and yeah it's one of the greatest movies of all time, but Casino has Joe Pesci getting beaten to death with baseball bats, after he's forced to watch his brother suffer the same fate. Yikes! He's outta there!

Hour Of The Wolf - Adult Supervision

Max von Sydow plays a man descending into madness in Hour Of The Wolf. He recounts an incident in which he encounters a small boy and "accidentally" kills him. With a rock. It's… dark. Movie rules, though.

Fight Club - Angel Face

Academy Award winner Jared Leto gets his face demolished by Edward Norton, presumably after Norton saw Leto's Kurt Cobain impression.

Inside

It's hard to pick one scene in this one. A psychotic woman tries to steal an expectant mother's unborn child. Complete insanity ensues. The "destruction" in this case is the pregnant woman's entire life, and the lives of those around her. Brutal.

The Departed - The Fall

Full disclosure: We modeled the "Guy Picciotto" video after this scene. Also, what are the odds that DiCaprio would be standing right there? Yeah right, Marty!

Greys have a few tour dates coming up where you can witness their destruction live. Their debut album If Anything is out via Carpark Records/Buzz Records on June 17:

5/16 Brooklyn, NY @ Death By Audio
5/17 Philadelphia, PA @ Golden Tea House
5/18 Allston, MA @ Great Scott
