PREMIERE: Bask in the Highs and Lows of Fidel Sun's Experimental Rap Tape 'Valley Sun'

Valley Sun is the debut project from North Philly afterhours heroes DJ Sylo and Fidel Sun, a love story birthed in the The Valley out of the pair's underground party $TUNTLOCO at 940. They've been building buzz over the past three years with Sylo on the tables and Fidel on the mic, with the likes of Miguel and Dumbfoundead coming through. The wild nights lead to debauchery and, inevitably, heartbreak.

The highs and lows of those days culiminate in Valley Sun, their soberingly hoenest meditation on emotional turmoil made all the more raw thanks to its collaborative DIY roots. Autotuned laments like "Since you met me / I saw in your eyes that you wanted to leave me" ("Valley Man") float over Sylo's experimental production and bass work from pal Betsaleel.

"During this time I'm goin threoough it with this girl who I met at Stunt, I guess you can call her a twisted muse," Fidel says. "I was goin back and forth with her and my love for The Valley, a place that was turning us into local legends. The recording process happened in The Valley in our home, zero lights, drugs, tons of emotion, and Betsaleel playing his soul on bass."
