In these days of heavy music thriving in abundance nearly everywhere you look, rock‘n’roll fans need not look far to find anything that suits their niche tastes, but unfortunately, it’s also easy to see that there’s a real lack of music that gets stuck in your head; music that gets a thousand metalheads to put their fist in the air and sing along to a chorus in unison; music that permeates your memories so hard that even a bar or two will remind you of exactly what you were doing that year, who you were in love with, and what mischief you and your friends were getting into.Enter Hypnos, a band from Gothenburg, Sweden, who seem to have done their homework: These guys bring the bluesiness of Graveyard, the guitar solos of Thin Lizzy, and hooks reminiscent of the catchiest tracks of Judas Priest's catalog (Think “Breaking The Law” and “Turbo Lover.”) They remember that it wasn’t long ago that a band could have all of the catchiness of pop without losing out on any rock'n'roll cred or musicianship. Some might rejoice at the departure from the pop traditions of yesteryear, but the truth is, if your band doesn’t have a few total earworms (bangerz, if you will), you’re just not going to have the same success as the ones who do.This no-nonsense video for “I’m On The Run,” the first single from their sophomore album Cold Winds, out April 29 via Crusher Records, puts it all out on the table and lets the music speak for itself.
