Listen to Alpine Cover Hunters & Collectors' "Hear No Evil"

We've been interested in Melbourne's Alpine since they released the video for "Hands" back in 2011. The track is spectral electro-pop and the visuals were like El Guincho's promo for "Bombay" (AKA the best vid ever made) meets The Virgin Suicides meets Girl, Interrupted. But instead of mental instability being the running theme, it featured a bunch of girls in pale underwear and tank tops running around a big house doing normal things like eating burgers in the bath, fishing in the swimming pool, and getting frisky with a sliding glass door. Matter of fact, this video featured a girl lasciviously licking an axe way before Miley gave head to a sledgehammer.

Anyway. Their debut album, A is for Alpine, came out earlier this year and below is a cover of 80s Aussie rock band Hunters & Collectors' track "Hear No Evil." Alpine contributed this rework on a recently released tribute record for band, which also features musical countrymen Cloud Control and The Avalanches (REMEMBER THEM?), and Eddie Vedder (who has Aussie roots? Probs not). Their cover is actually better than the original. Namely because they got rid of the brass, pumped up the bass, and threw in some Imogen Heap-esque manipulated harmonies. It's super chill and totally lovely.
