The man in the middle is Derek Stanton. He's the one answering our silly questions.
Love Turn to Crime. The trio make the kind of lo-fi songs that remind me of being 16 and annoyed with my parents. "Prince of Slackers"—premiering below—quite specifically makes me think of saying I was one place and sneaking out to be with my unsuitable monosyllabic Pavement-loving boyfriend-of-the-time instead. And yeah I got caught and grounded for a year. Who knows why "Prince of Slackers" made me think of this moment exactly, but that's the great thing about music right? A guitar tone can dredge up all kinds of weird stuff. Turn to Crime are playing a bunch of shows in NY/BK/Boston over the next couple of days, so you should probably go see them, and read our interview with singer Derek Stanton where he make him fill out our OkCupid-cribbed questionnaire. The most private thing I’m willing to admit is:I'm a hipster…. Phew! I feel better now. Back to gentrifying.(Note: this is a fucking joke internet trolls.)On a typical Friday night I am:Working. Always working. You should message me if:You're interested in my band.Turn to Crime Tour Dates
