PREMIERE: Wasiu Teases Subway Terrorism in "Bout 02 Blow" Video

For his new video, the Montreal rapper threatens to blow up a transit system as a way to mock the masses.

From tense racial relations to recent Anti-Islam protests, Montreal has become target to a storm of civil unrest. And if rapper Wasiu's new video “Bout 02 Blow” is any indication, there's a long way to go before it gets better. Dressed head-to-toe in a Haitian bandana and Montreal Canadiens jersey, Wasiu and company pose as terrorists aboard an abandoned train whilst rapping, “Drop it to the floor… like the city cops pull you over on the road / put your hands up, nowadays you never know.” The rapper also shares his frustrations with the media's coverage of minorities, bringing to light an important message over spring-sounding basslines and sinister loops.

"When I say "Bout 02 Blow" I'm talking about a couple things," Wasiu explains. "I'm about to blow up in the rap game, I'm about to explode in a blind fury because I'm not getting the props I deserve, and I'm about to blow, like a terrorist. And when I say terrorist I'm referring to the way media builds this fearful image of Blacks, Muslims, and minorities, and it gets fed into the minds of the masses. But what we as people don't realize is that this also empowers us and we just have to realize what we possess. So that's why we took over the Montreal Metro train system dressed up like terrorists—to mock the masses and grab the spotlight to use it to our own benefit whether everyone else likes it or not.
