Listen to Kano Offer Up His Own Take on The Streets' Classic Track "Has It Come To This?"

Kano stopped by the Radio 1 studios yesterday evening to perform the track live, as part of their 'Piano Sessions'.

Through his latest album Made in the Manor, Kano has been hoisted to stronger and higher levels than ever before. In some ways, it's a new beginning for Kano; as an album, it documents the last decade of his career, underscoring it, and leaving space to move forward. Beneath the arguably seminal qualities of Made in the Manor though lays a promo campaign that's just as exciting. A few weeks back Kano gave a masterclass in 'Fire in the Booth' freestyles, sending all his doubters to the grave.

Now, last night, he reappeared on Radio 1 to give his own take on The Streets classic track "Has It Come To This", as part of their "Piano Sessions'. Part cover, part original, Kano interpolates lines from The Streets original with some of his own lyrics, while a stabbing, melancholic piano plinks away in the background. It's an absorbing rendition, made all the more poignant by The Streets references and tributes that are strewn across the lyrics of Kano's latest record. Listen below.
