Deptford Goth - "Union"

Balloons and melancholy in the new Deptford Goth visuals.

Earlier this year, Deptford Goth’s Youth II EP left us with melted hearts, blubbering silently and yearning for more of his near-sado-masochistically impassioned, burgeoning yet sparse compositions. So it’s brilliant to see that the undercurrent of pathos hasn’t been diminished by the warmer, fuller, and frankly upbeat production sound on "Union," taken from his debut record to come out on Merok next year.

The video matches the slightly unsettled tone of the track, featuring a suitably melancholy looking Deptford Goth (aka. Daniel Woodhouse) meandering the fields, arms trapped aloft by snarkily colourful balloons, because—as we all know—weird shit like that goes down in the countryside all the time…right?
