Kevin Castro Continues SCI+TEC’s Tradition of Discovering Emerging Talent

Stream his debut track "Cubism" on the label's forthcoming 'Formula 4' EP.

Debuting on SCI+TEC Digital Audio on August 14th is Miami-based producer Kevin Castro's "Cubism." Set to be featured on the label's forthcoming Formula 4 EP, "Cubism" matches quirky, bouncy basslines with marching, military-esque percussion and mysterious echoes of the unusual. In other words, it's a forward-thinking sound designed to entrap listeners for a journey deep into the dark underground.

Musically gifted and inspired by classical minimalism—think of the works of Philip Glass and Steve Reich—Kevin Castro is excited to share his musical creations with the world.

""Cubism" is a special piece for me. It personifies the vibe I'm going for artistically. What makes Cubism unique to me is the harmonic relationship between all of the low frequencies. The piece itself might not sound very intricate superficially, however the musicality of it is what allowed for the lows not to create conflict between each other."

At 21, support from genre kingpins such as Dubfire himself and Kevin Saunderson have humbled him. But receiving the respect and gratitude of his peers and mentors is part of the motivation in his productions. As a result, Kevin has found a niche in engaging listeners into the vortex of his productions.

With sizzling basslines, stomping bass, and infectious groove, Kevin Castro's arrival on the scene isn't likely to go unnoticed.
