Former Bengals (and Jets!) quarterback Boomer Esiason called into the NFL Network this afternoon and suggested that the reason IK Enemkpali sucker-punched Geno Smith is because the quarterback owed him money. Esiason doesn't really elaborate on the story, other than to say that he is trying to find out what happened, but "it sounds like, to me, somebody owes somebody some money and, you know, digging around and trying to figure out what the case is, I think Geno did owe this young man some money."That's really all we have to go on at this point, in addition to more speculation:
