Game 1 of World Series Delayed Because FOX Lost Power to the Broadcast Truck

FOX lost the power to the truck for Game 1 of the World Series.

This World Series is only four innings old and it's already the craziest goddamned thing. FOX lost the power to the truck in Kansas City and briefly went to a "Technical Difficulties" screen before getting back to a studio set with a slapped together few minutes of analysis. We assumed that the game continued on as viewers missed out, but since replay was not available due to the outage, they delayed the game while FOX sorted out it's power problems.

To get viewers back as soon as they could, FOX used MLB International's feed with Matt Vasgersian and John Smoltz, and it sounded like they were just being informed of the cause of the delay.

Before first pitch, news broke that starting pitcher Edinson Volquez's father had passed away before the game and it was unclear whether Volquez even knew. The game then officially began with an inside-the-park home run.
