Buddy Hield is Absolutely Playing Out of His Mind

The Oklahoma guard dazzled last night against the Oregon, moving his Sooners into the Final Four.

Buddy Hield is playing at least Steph Curry-level Davidson 2008 March Madness ball right now. It might even be fair to say that Buddy Hield is playing 2016 Curry-level ball right now. The man is playing out of his goddamn mind.

In last night's upset (though honestly, a two-seed beating a one-seed isn't all that upsetting, particularly given Oregon's lucky placement), Oklahoma knocked out Oregon 80-68, and 37—count them, friends—37! points belonged to Hield. I know you can't really say that, without Hield, Oklahoma would have lost 43-68 (somebody else would have replaced him, blah blah blah), but it certainly feels like Hield made all the difference in the world last night. He went 8 for 15 on threes, and became the first person since Curry to reach 100 points and make 15 threes before the Final Four. Seems like a fair comparison to me.

Lucky for Hield—and Oklahoma—his teammates are selfless enough to let him find that stroke and dole out some wonder shots like this deep, near-buzzer-beater:

My good, sweet lord. The man can ball.
