Let's start off with some news from Brazil: The Olympics are nigh and more than half of the Olympic Village is not even close to complete.

Formula One generalisimo Bernie Ecclestone's mother-in-law was reportedly kidnapped in Sao Paulo. The kidnappers are looking for 36.5 million bucks to get her back. .

New Zealand jiu jitsu champion Jason Lee was kidnapped by the police in Brazil and released after he took some money out of his ATM.

Seven Russian swimmers have been ruled out of the Olympics.
