Donald Trump is suing former campaign aide Sam Nunberg for $10 million, alleging that the strategist breached his confidentiality agreement and slipped information to the press, the Guardian reports.

The Trump campaign claims that Nunberg leaked a story about former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and spokeswoman Hope Hicks to the New York Post. The Post article, which said the pair were spotted in a heated yelling match on a Manhattan street, added further fuel to reports that Trump's campaign was a chaotic mess.

Nunberg filed a countersuit on Wednesday, calling the whole thing a "frivolous and retaliatory arbitration proceeding against me essentially to punish me and shut me up." According to Nunberg, Trump's just pissed that his aide, who left the campaign back in August 2015, went on to support Ted Cruz in the GOP primary.

In the affidavit obtained by the Guardian, not only does Nunberg deny giving the Post the story, but he calls the incident a "lovers' quarrel" and alleges that Hicks and Lewandowski were engaged in an "illicit affair." He also argues that, because the incident happened in public, it couldn't have been a breach in confidentiality.

"I would hope the Trump campaign can raise funds in a more traditional and practical manner," he writes.

The suit comes just days before Trump is expected to announce his vice presidential pick, and at a time when the real estate mogul continues to struggle with fundraising. According to the New York Times, the Trump campaign has been hemorrhaging money, and had just $1.3 million in cash on hand at the beginning of June.
