Hopper from 'Stranger Things' Has Danced His Way into Our Hearts and Memes

The Hawkins chief of police makes for some hot-ass meme fodder.

Spoiler for the new season of Stranger Things: Some people dance in it.

Eleven and Mike dance, Lucas and Maxine dance, Dustin and his Farrah hair dance with Nancy. And while most of said dancing takes place at, well, a dance, chief of police Jim Hopper has his little moment to cut a rug, too.

During a mid-season flashback, Hopper brings Eleven to his grandfather's old cabin and, throwing a dusty Jim Croce album on the record player, shimmies and shakes while she grows completely mortified. It's a sweet scene between a couple of characters who are slowly becoming a family, but—more important—it's also apparently some hot-ass meme fodder.

A new Twitter account called @HopperDancingTo sprang up over the weekend and is dedicated to the noble task of posting videos of our boy Jim goofily snapping his fingers to every song in the known universe. And by God, they're beautiful.

Hopper apparently has eclectic tastes. In the videos, we see him dance to other 80s hits like "Don't You (Forget About Me)" by Simple Minds and "Safety Dance," but he also gets down to Future, Taylor Swift, and that goddamn Foster the People song. He also, fittingly, boogies to the Stranger Things theme.

The meme has already caught the eyes of the Stranger Things cast. Actor Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers in the show, hit up the account to request a video of Hopper dancing to Justin Bieber, and David Harbour—who plays the lovable law man—said it "won [his] stone cold heart."

Watch Jim Hopper groove to a few choice cuts below before the account goes the way of Call Me by Your Name's @armiedancingto.

Correction 10/30: An earlier version of this article misidentified Jim Croce as Joe Croce. The article has been updated to correct the error.
