Myrkur's "Måneblôt" Is Your Gothic Folk Black Metal Fix for Today

When the mandola hits >>>

Danish choral/folk metal luminary Myrkur is back with a new album Mareridt on September 15th and she's finally given us the first taste of it. It's called "Måneblôt" (Danish for "Nightmare," which is pretty rad) and it really makes good on the promise of all those ancient Scandinavian folk instruments that Myrkur mastermind Amalie Bruun showcased in the album trailer.

Other than her spindly filigrees of mandola and violin, Bruun does her patented thing and snarls and coos all over the song, which matches its pendulum swing between raging blastbeats and shoegaze-inspired fog. Listen to "Måneblôt" above.
