When the Indonesian government bid Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis adieu after his recent visit, it decided to say goodbye in the most metal way imaginable: putting on a military demonstration that was savage as hell.

In footage from the sendoff, you see the country's troops walk on fire, break blocks with their heads, roll in glass, and drink snake blood—apparently pretty standard behavior when it's time to say peace to a visiting official.

On Wednesday's episode of Desus & Mero, the hosts talked about the utterly insane display, marveling at just how much the troops seemed willing to go through.
