Chris, a young father, bought a ticket to Florida in order to seek treatment for his addiction. But when he got there, he learned that getting help wasn't as easy as he thought, and ended up stranded miles away from home and forced to live on the streets. His story is all too common in South Florida, one of the major epicenters of the opioid crisis, where people go to attend one of the area's many rehabilitation centers only to be turned away when their insurance can't cover the substantial costs.

On this week's episode of VICELAND's docu-series DOPESICK NATION, we meet Chris and others like him who are stuck in the limbo of the billion-dollar rehabilitation industry.

DOPESICK NATION airs Wednesday at 10 PM on VICELAND. Find out how to tune in here.
