Averkiou's "Go Matsumoto" Premiere

Our prime reason for premiering this track is because it's part of an EP that has a flying kitten on the cover. That seems legit enough, right?

Averkiou’s The New Imperative EP comes out on February 10, and we’re premiering a song off of it called “Go Matsumoto.” Our prime reason for premiering this track is because it’s part of an EP that has a flying kitten on the cover. That seems legit enough, right?

Averkiou is pronounced ave-er-queue, which I’m sure was very far from how you were saying it in your head. The band is made up of five guys from Florida, and together they sound like the Lemonheads mixed with that whooshing rush of blood sound you hear in your ears after eating too much sugar and then running around outside for an hour.

According to the internet, Matsumoto is a city located in Negana Prefecture, Japan, and is designated as a “Special City,” which means that it has a population of at least 200,000. So, there you go. Although our first guess would have been that Matsumoto is the name of the cat.

The New Imperative 7" can be pre-ordered right here. Or, if you'd prefer all the sounds without the vinyl, you can buy a virtual copy of the record now on iTunes.
