Most Vital: Grammys Get Gold, Hannah Wants & Chris Lorenzo Rhyme and Ravers Strip Naked

To us, you're all winners.

It's Grammy weekend and Los Angeles is swole with industry types from all over the world. The winners will be Disclosure, Aphex Twin, and Tiësto. Unless it's Duke Dumont, Deadmau5, and Robin Schulz. Of course, it could also be Clean Bandit, Robyn & Röyksopp and Audien. Whoever takes home the trophies, we'll have all the news and the dirt from music's biggest (most overblown?) night right here.

Prayers, Computers and Sampled Robots on the Charts

In the run up to the Grammys it's no surprise that two nominees—Robin Schulz and Aphex Twin—are sitting atop two of Billboard's dance charts, albeit not with the work that got them each nominated. Schulz, a nominee for his remix of Mr. Probz' languid "Waves," enjoys his first week at No. 1 on the Dance/Electronic Songs list with "Prayer In C." Both "Prayer" and "Waves" are lodged in the 30s on the Hot 100 (Nos. 33 and 39 respectively) but the former keeps climbing up the Canadian Hot 100, this week at No. 12.

Meanwhile, Best Dance/Electronic Album nominee Aphex Twin is again atop the Dance/Electronic album chart with his follow-up to Syro, a b-sides EP collection, Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments Pt 2. In the UK, Computer slips 36-56 where it's just below Above & Beyond who dead dropped 12-55 in week two of release for We Are All We Need.

On the UK singles chart,

Hannah Wants & Chris Lorenzo

giddily land at No. 13 with new entry "Rhymes." The Daft Punk (and Busta Rhymes)-sampling 2014 track got a proper single release in the UK, propelling it to No. 5 on the Dance Singles Top 40. "Rhymes" bows three spots below songstress

Karen Harding

's deeply smoldering "Say Something" opening at No. 2 in its first official week of release.

London's Scrub Up is a Flub Up

If the notion of drug dogs waiting outside of Fabric wasn't enough to make you chuck away your Oyster card, the Met's Operation Equinox might tip the scale towards staying in. The plan, already partially rolled out, places breathalysers at the door of night clubs around London. As evidenced by Peckham's vinyl-driven rally against gentrification, London's ham-handed attempts to clean up are already rallying the rave troops.

Here Are Some New Music-Related Places to Get Naked

Floridian Christina Platt came upon internet fame after videos of her streaking at a Keys 'N' Krates gig went viral. In an exclusive interview, she explained her quasi-feminist, body-positive reasoning behind her favorite pasttime. If she's looking for venues to flash that flesh, Lightning in a Bottle in California (Flume, RL Grime, ODESZA), Buku in New Orleans (David Guetta, Kaskade, Zeds Dead), and Spring Awakening in Chicago (Zedd, Hardwell, Tiësto) could all provide a nip-friendly moment or two. (Though not likely Ultra's Resistance stage.)

The US Government is Fucking with the Interwebs Again (This Time it Might Be OK)

A bipartisan bill in the US congress titled the Electronic Communications Privacy Act is pushing for authorities to obtain a warrant before rifling through your e-mails. Looks like your dickpix are safe for another day. Elsewhere, net neutrality is a hot-button issue in Washington, and a vote pushing for equality of internet speeds throughout the US is looking likely to pass

Axwell /\ Ingrosso teased the forthcoming video for "Something New" and announced their new YouTube channel with a clip that features the two former Mafiosos in a bare-knuckle boxing match. Steve Angello may want to duck.

Montreal is So Bassy

As Igloofest's final weekend unfolds in Montreal staring tonight, more good music news comes to The City of Saints. Red Bull Music Academy Bass Camp returns for its second Canadian season in Montreal this February 26 to March 1. The famed program will host a smaller version of its usual series, this time through a four-day showcase. Twenty artists have been handpicked from across Canada to participate in lectures, studio time, and club nights with some of the music industry's elite.

Bashmore is King

Since Matt Walker AKA Julio Bashmore first started hanging out on tunes with Disclosure and Jessie Ware, we've been salivating for a full-length from this London-based producer. "Kong" featuring vocalist Bixby is just one track from the upcoming LP, expected this year on Bashmore's own Boardwalk Records and like most of his output, this "Kong" is king.
