The Daily Telegraph reports more than 60 people were injured yesterday in a stampede at the Falls Music and Arts Festival in Lorne, Australia. Guests were reportedly leaving a set featuring DMA's to see British band London Grammar when the incident occurred.

According to the Daily Telegraph, new barricades around the sides of the performance tent led to the stampede, which caused head injuries and broken bones. Only three narrow exits were reportedly provided for guests, reports the Herald Sun.

Paul Holman, the State Health Commander Ambulance Victoria, told the Daily Telegraph that 19 of the injured were transported to nearby hospitals. After the stampede, programming in the festival's Grand Theatre was suspended for the rest of the evening and resumed today.

"In response to last night's incident we have considered the egress into and out of The Grand Theatre and made some modifications to today's event," festival organizers said in a statement. "The safety and wellbeing of our patrons is of paramount concern to us. Whilst a very distressing situation, we are heartened and thankful for the amazing work of our medical teams and staff who responded with such care and support to those affected and continue to do so for the remaining duration of the festival.

Other scheduled acts for the Falls Music and Arts Festival include Booka Shade, The Avalanches and Ta-ku.
