Video: Oscar Key Sung - "All I Could Do"

Like jogging through your favorite net artist's computer.

PBR&B rules. I'm talking about "indie R&B"—the post-Timbaland playground where you'll find kids like Frank Ocean, The Weeknd, Jhené Aiko, Twigs and SZA romping around, pulling the genre best known for cheesy sex jams into weirder waters. It's by far the most exciting corner of the music world right now. Consider the 23-year-old Australian producer/singer Oscar Key Sung, the newest droopy-eyed kid on the block.

His second single, "All I Could Do," opens with syrupy-sweet female vocals humming against ominously stripped-down sounds—yep, it kinda sounds like a Kelela song—before bursting into a vibrant bouquet of keyboard stabs, hand claps, and Oscar's own buttery vocals.

It's all set to a music video that traces the dopest jogging route I've ever seen—one that follows a white-shirted dude as he runs through a digital tableaux of po-faced Greek sculptures, spinning pyramids, and cloaked gremlins. It's… much more exciting than a treadmill.

Oscar Key Sung has been flexing his production chops through recent collaborations with Ghostpoet, MeLo-X, and Charles Murdoch. Look out for his debut EP on Melbourne's Two Bright Lakes early next year.
