Video game-inspired, "Awakening" is Chet Porter's personal invitation to join him in his cartoonish world of whimsical exploration and kawaii creatures."It starts off with this cute main character on his island, or in his forest, or wherever you want him to live," says the Toronto local, who emphasizes on his SoundCloud that he's "not Chet Faker and Porter Robinson's side project." The anecdotal sound experiment, cutely dominated by the sound of a Zelda-esque flute, is his second track to be released on Big Beat's White Label, and the first track to be written under the Chet Porter alias.Although the song may be just the start of the emerging artist's dance music trajectory, his vision is already clear. "I really just want to create music that evokes feelings and has a visual/imaginative aspect to it," he says.
