Watch Ryan Adams Bring That Good Rock 'n' Roll to 'Fallon'

He played "Do You Still Love Me?" and "To Be Without You" on last night's Tonight Show.

Ryan Adams's new album, Prisoner, came out yesterday. It's a rock 'n' roll record, more so than anything else in his catalog, picking apart a broken marriage with 80s riffs and warm distortion. That's not to say that Adams doesn't have grand ideas or that Prisoner doesn't hold heavy ambition inside it—Adams is as nuanced a pop songwriter as you'll find—but, like all the best breakup records, its heart is broken, and the singer is trying to pick up the pieces.

Last night, Adams took two Prisoner tracks to The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, providing the inevitable counterpoint to the host's constant enthusiasm. On the live broadcast, we got a rousing, desparate "Do You Still Love Me?,"  Adams wearing a Misfits tee and clutching a Flying V. As a bonus, he went on to perform the gut-wrenching, country-tinged "To Be Without You" as a web exclusive. You can watch both of those videos below.
