Listen to the Mountain Goats' Rejected Star Wars Song "The Ultimate Jedi Who Wastes All the Other Jedi and Eats Their Bones"

Now you know that Rian Johnson has a Soundcloud.

If there is one thing to look forward to, it's the new Star Wars movie coming out December wherein director Rian Johnson will hopefully delve into some deep character shit and left-turns in the story. Though the unofficial Greatest Musician of All Time John Williams (fact) will be scoring the film, it turns out that Johnson and Mountain Goats head John Darnielle had some humourous musical ideas of their own. According to Darnielle via Twitter, the joke title "The Ultimate Jedi Who Wastes All the Other Jedi and Eats Their Bones" led to Darnielle writing and recording a song with this title and Johnson hosting it on his personal Soundcloud, a thing that you now know exists.

The solo acoustic song features lines like "with the dust of Jedi bones piled up like parsnips on his plate" and Darnielle talking about how Johnson's eventual film adaptation of the Ultimate Jedi's story will be great because his cameras "are unimaginably high-res." It's an extremely silly song, but just maybe the message of "Despair not for the end that waits for you" could make this a secretly motivational one as well? Listen to "The Ultimate Jedi" (not gonna write that whole thing again) below.
