Can You Tell The Difference Between Ikea Furniture And A Death Metal Band?

It seems that Ikea and death metal have a lot more in common than we thought: Unpronounceable, Scandinavian, and striking terror into the hearts of many (go ahead and visit the latter on a Saturday), a new quiz by Sam Panico, Jeff Barton, and Gatesman + Dave challenges participants to decipher whether a word is the name of a piece of furniture or a black metal band.

Though we consider ourselves experts at both Scandinavian design and loud music, we were still surprised at some of the answers:

According to PSFK, the idea was hatched by self-confessed metal head Panico and design partner Barton during a particularly confusing trip to the Swedish megalomart. What began as a simple quiz between friends has now become the meme “IKEA or Death,” with almost 500,000 hits to date.
