Get Together with GotSome Ahead of their Amnesia Residency

We've got a summer-ready mix and an in interview inside.

Bouncy Bristolians GotSome are a pair of seriously bassy boys. Adam Gorsky and Alex Holmes met down in the South West's capital of culture a few years back and haven't looked back. As a production duo, they're probably best known for the club-smashing Wiley collaboration "Vibe Out", a serious slammer that rolled round everywhere from Southampton to Southend. Despite a slim catalogue so far, the lads are making waves on the circuit.

This summer's seen them jet over to Ibiza for a summer long residency at one of the most famous nightclubs in the world, Amnesia, where they've been joined by the likes of DJ EZ, Chris Lorenzo, and Shift K3y at the Together night.

To get us in the mood for donning our sunnies and printing off those all important boarding passes, we asked Adam and Alex to slot together a mix for us. What we got back is an object lesson in good times. Honestly, if it doesn't make you want to hit the pool after smashing down a bit of calamari and a few pints, nothing will. Swim sensibly, though. Please. We also had a quick chat with the pair, too. Stream the mix and read the interview below. See you at Amnesia!

THUMP: How did two lads from Bristol get in to bassline?
Alex: We met going to a jungle and d&b night in Bristol called Drive By where Adam was a resident DJ. I was also really into bass heavy breaks and other electronic music.
Adam: Yeah, I was into jungle, dub and reggae at the time, and also hip hop. Bristol has always had a close relationship with bass driven music, and we just soaked it up by going to clubs and festivals.

GotSome what? What have you got?
Adam: That's the million dollar question!
Alex: A big bag of bass.

How do I get it?
Alex: Come visit our studio and replenish our chocolate biscuit tin and we'll give you some.
Adam: Or come and see us DJ.

How did the residency come about?
Adam: We worked with MTA Records (Chase and Status' label) earlier in the year on our track "Vibe Out" featuring Wiley and they're heavily involved with Together and Amnesia so we were lucky enough to get invited to play. It's such an amazing opportunity for us to come and play our music in Ibiza and it's been really fun so far.
Alex: The sound system, pyrotechnics and crazy lazers at Amnesia are awesome. It's been a real honour to have a residency all summer and play there for Together alongside such a killer line up of DJs and acts.

What are your top tips for having the best time in ibiza possible? Imagine I'm only there for 24hrs. Where do I go? What do I see?
Alex: Ok, best 24 hours… Let's set the scene…. You land at 2pm, fresh off the rave plane and go straight to charter a boat. You head to Formentera (an incredibly beautiful island off the coast) and chill on the beach with a picnic. Then get the captain to take you round to Ibiza Town and get lost wondering around the walls and streets of the old town in the shadow of Dalt Villa. Next, you head north and grab some cocktails next to the beach at The Harbour Club in Talamanca, before walking 10 minutes up to the Fish Shack restaurant for a delicious fresh fish dish…
Adam: Right, you've got some sun, seen some sights and are fuelled up. Time to hit DC10 and rave on the terrace for a few hours before moving inside for some heavier tunes. At 4AM you jump in a taxi to Amnesia to keep the party going with a different vibe. It's 8AM now…You've been invited to a villa party in the mountains by a hot girl you met dancing by the bar, so you go and chat with randoms as the sun slowly rises in the sky. At 11 you head back in to town and find a small cafe where you grab an espresso martini to give you a boost, before heading back to the airport for your flight home at 2. Boom!
