Queensland Reds Super Rugby veteran and former-Wallaby, Scott Higginbotham, has been charged with assaulting a police officer following an incident in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, early Sunday Morning.Higginbotham had initially played "peacemaker" after a friend of his was arrested for urinating in public, leading to a confrontation with police. The 32-test veteran then allegedly attempted to bulldoze his way into the the Fortitude Valley Police Beat leading to a scuffle with officers. Channel Nine reported a taser was drawn though not used in their attempt to subdue and handcuff the 1.95 meter, 110 kilogram back-rower.He will face court on February 21st and has been barred from the Queensland Reds training squad pending further investigations.Queensland Reds coach, Nick Stiles, fronted reporters earlier today to express his "disappointment" over the incident."I'm extremely disappointed, I'm extremely annoyed that I'm here standing to you talking about Scott's actions over the weekend," said Stiles."Scotty, listen, he's a very proud Queenslander. He came back here to really finish his career at the state. He came back here to contribute both on and off the field. He is extremely disappointed with what he did on the weekend. He is very disappointed that it's brought this press conference about rather than the good things that Queensland rugby does," he said.
