Cancer, March 2016

Eclipses aren't easy, but they are necessary. Luckily, you have a hard shell to protect you, dear crab, not to mention one of the sharpest intuitions in the zodiac!

In our monthly horoscopes, we provide a more in depth look at what's happening in the sky. You can read the rest of our monthly horoscopes here.

It's a massive month for you, Cancer! There are two eclipses, and since you are ruled by the Moon, this means your month will be extra juicy (and dramatic, life changing, possibly scary, but definitely exciting). Eclipses take away things from our lives that are no longer working (and prying anything from your crab claws is not easy), but they also bring us new information and opportunities. Let's take a look at your March:

Two planets change signs on March 5: Mercury enters Pisces, and Mars enters Sagittarius. Mercury is the planet of the mind; in fellow Water sign Pisces, it becomes a little less focused and way dreamier. Mercury cares about the details, but Pisces doesn't really care for 'em, so this combination can be a little difficult. Fortunately, you're very intuitive, so you'll survive, Cancer. You'll also experience a shift in thinking around travel or schooling.

Warrior Mars in Fire sign Sagittarius will give you more energy for your daily tasks and chores. If you've been thinking about working out or kicking a bad habit, you'll definitely have the inspiration you need to get it done, and you'll finally be able to finish the projects that have been lingering on your to-do list.

March 8 brings the first eclipse of the month—a solar eclipse in Pisces! The energy is super intense today. Pisces, like you, is a Water sign, deeply psychic and empathetic. Pisces is also a very philosophical energy, and this eclipse will find you discovering some new ways of thinking that will shift your perception of the world.

Your month will be extra juicy (and dramatic, life changing, possibly scary, but definitely exciting).

The way you interact with the world and your learning will also be deeply affected. If you're in school, this eclipse will definitely bring some changes. Ditto if you are traveling or living abroad. Pisces is the sign of limitlessness and interconnection, so this eclipse will impact your reach to the outside world. Sorting out the details could be confusing during this time, so don't expect to understand everything all at once. Give the lessons of this eclipse a little time to sink in. The Sun, the planet of the ego, opposes the planet of abundance and exaggeration, Jupiter, today as well, so overdoing could be an issue.

On March 12, lovely Venus enters Pisces, one of its favorite placements in the zodiac. If you've had a rough eclipse, Venus should bring some blessings. It's the planet of love, money, beauty, and harmony; now that it's in Pisces (again, the sign of limitlessness), luxury and affection will be super abundant. Cancers are famous for being super nostalgic homebodies, but you'll feel pretty open to exploration during this transit!

An amazing opportunity for conversation and deep understanding in your relationships (romantic or otherwise) comes on March 16, when lucky Jupiter in flawless Virgo makes an easy aspect with the lord of the underworld, Pluto. Being the planet of death and rebirth, Pluto can definitely be a very freaky energy to work with; however, when it's working well with other planets—especially Jupiter, which rules abundance—deep and positive transformation can go down.

The spring equinox arrives on March 20 when the Sun enters Aries, illuminating the sector of your chart that rules success and popularity. This is a great month to work on any professional or public goals you have. That said, March 20 does bring some confusing energy, although I think you'll probably enjoy the dazed vibe— sometimes it's fun to get lost. Venus, the planet of love and money, will meet dreamy, foggy Neptune today. This combination is extremely creative and artistic… but be careful to look out for deception. Someone could get "creative" in the wrong kind of way today, leading you on or straight-up telling lies. You're very intuitive, Cancer, so trust your gut today. Enjoy the hazy energy, but don't commit to anything or over-rely on anyone's word.

The vibe on March 20 is extremely creative and artistic… but be careful to look out for deception.

You'll be even more focused on your professional or public life on March 21, when communicator Mercury enters Aries. Aries can feel like a confrontational energy, and you Cancers are famously crybabies, but please be brave! Aries can be impulsive and confrontational, but it's actually the true baby of the zodiac— it's the first sign on the wheel! Aries is innocent, forgiving, and optimistic. Don't be afraid to reach out and make connections; Mercury in Aries has your back.

March 23 is definitely a day to circle in your calendar, Cancer. Jupiter will challenge Saturn, the Sun will meet Mercury in Aries, and we will have the full moon lunar eclipse in Libra.

Jupiter/Saturn squares are rough—any way in which you've been irresponsible will trip you up really badly. This is absolutely not a day to be deceitful, gossip, or flake on your duties. Jupiter is currently in perfectionist Virgo, hanging out in the sector of your chart that rules communication, while Saturn's in Sag, spending time in the area of daily chores and responsibilities— you'll feel pressure on both ends, so try to face the energy by being as honest and hardworking as you can.

Because the planet of the ego, the Sun, will be with Mercury, the planet of logic, on March 23, it will be really hard to get people to change their minds or see things objectively. This is another important reason to put your best foot forward on this day— excuses won't fly!

And, of course, we have the eclipse in lovely Libra, which will bring your attention to every Cancer's favorite subject: the home. Libra is all about balance and harmony, and typically your home has exactly this kind of vibe. Cancers go nuts when things are off-kilter in their safe spaces. This eclipse will illuminate all the ways you need to strengthen your foundation. Issues with your family could come up, or even with roommates or landlords. Surprises about your ancestry could arrive, or a feeling that you need to reconnect with your roots could suddenly take over. The Sun and Mercury are placing a strong emphasis on the fame and fortune sector of your chart, but the eclipse will ask you to find balance by giving some love to your domestic issues.

On March 25, taskmaster Saturn stations retrograde (meaning, it will start retracing its steps through the zodiac), which will find you rethinking how you spend your day. You'll especially find yourself focusing on the things you've added to your schedule since August, 2015. (Again, Saturn is currently in Sagittarius, spending time in the sector of your chart that rules your daily tasks.) You'll also reconsider your routine concerning health—this is a great time to really reflect on why you indulge in any bad habits.

Watch out for miscommunications and scheduling issues on March 25, due to sweet Venus opposing Jupiter and squaring Saturn. Take it slow and expect some delays and obstacles. After such a wild month, kicking back and doing nothing is all you'll have energy for anyway!

A lot will have changed in your life by the end of the month, Cancer. Eclipses aren't easy, but they are necessary. Luckily, you have a hard shell to protect you, dear crab, not to mention one of the sharpest intuitions in the zodiac!
