Yes, the various veins of today's exploding transformational festival scene all flow from the oceanic presence of Burning Man. But the senior student of the Black Rock master is Lightning in a Bottle, the 11-year-old boutique festival sprung from the minds of the three Los Angeles-based brothers—Dede, Jesse and Josh Flemming—who make up The Do LaB. The crew first set itself apart from the pack via their bass music substation at Coachella, and Lightning in a Bottle spun off from that annual event, growing into it's own formidable function each Memorial Day, bringing desert rave vibes native to Southern California with ample areas for arts and awareness.

True to that mission, the 2016 line-up features a full roster of consciousness-elevating endeavors, along with the finest in electronic music to soundtrack a weekend-long retreat from the real world taking place May 25-29. Headliner Chet Faker (who held down a Do LaB spot during last year's Coachella after hidden headliners Kaskade and Skrillex had to cancel due to capacity concerns) joins Grimes, Jamie XX, Four Tet and Moderat on the main stage. Techno and house titans Josh Wink, Guy Gerber, and Lee Burridge top the list of international DJ talent and bass music gets it's own rinsing with Mr. Carmack, Bleep Bloop, Eprom, and PANTyRAiD.
