French producer Fulgeance operates at the more conceptual edge of dance music, as evidenced by his recent works as CLAUDE, but his latest project with Berlin-based DJ Scientist is some of the most creative stuff we've seen in a long time.The Soviet Tape is comprised of samples from Soviet Era vinyl, all cut and mashed up into danceable tunes that orbit around instrumental hip-hop. We premiered the tune "Vendetta" earlier this year, but now we've got the video.Directed by animator Simon Walter, it's an animated tale of vinyl espionage that has aesthetic similarities with Soviet-era propaganda. Who knew the cold war could be this much fun?
