Hawks Guard Dennis Schroder Loses Tooth Mid-Game, Tucks It into His Sock

The move of a badass, or someone waiting for the Tooth Fairy.

Last night, after losing the dribble and getting knocked to the floor, Hawks guard Dennis Schroder fell face-first into Trailblazers center Meyers Leonard's knee and came up with a little less than what he arrived with. Specifically, he was down a tooth.

Instead of holding it and making his way off the court to seek medical attention, Schroder, like a total badass—or a six-year-old anticipating a visit from the tooth fairy—tucked the tooth into his sock for safe keeping.

Take a look at a close-up:

And here's what went down, in total. It doesn't look like too nasty a bump, but it was enough to knock something loose.

Afterward, Schroder told the Associated Press that it was a bonded cap and that he would have fixed at his dentist "ASAP." Meanwhile, Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer lauded Schroder, saying, "I thought the competitiveness and the toughness—you could feel it tonight." Sure, toughness. Whatever, we all know Schroder was just hoping for a visit from the dental pixie later that night.
