Warren G Butchers "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" at a Cubs Game

Warren G did not regulate with this one.

Warren G is a legend. "Regulate" might be one of the best mood songs of all time—put it on, and it lights up a certain weed-perfumed patch of neurons specifically designated for stone-cold chilling. The rhyme scheme is smooth, and Warren G dances through the heavy bass as Nate Dogg does what he does best: talk at shit. One song, though, escapes Warren G, and that's "Take Me Out to the Ballgame," one of the easiest songs around.

The Chicago Cubs invited Warren G to lead Wrigley Field in the ballpark classic during the seventh-inning stretch of Friday's game against the Braves, and it was absolutely nails-on-a-chalkboard bad. He intro'd the song with his classic "mount up" from "Regulate"—but, unlike "Regulate," he fails to deliver on his promise "we brings melody," hitting some sour notes right off the bat. He also forgets to sing the word "out," as in "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." Woof.

He pulls out of the nosedive and what follows starts to slightly resemble the song, but the organist must have been having a heart attack trying to follow along. Anyway, the man got some good chuckles out of the crowd, so that's all that matters. Kevin Bacon's cousin was loving it:
