Whether it's for playing out at a club or listening at home, DJs and producers typically have an encyclopedic hoard of music, new and old. In The Last Record, they tell us about the last three songs or albums they've purchased, and why these were important additions to their music collection.

This week, we spoke to Morgan Tepper, aka DJ Lisa Frank. Tepper curates, books, and promotes for ROAM, her series of pop-up events in the Washington D.C. area. ROAM has hosted events in warehouses, bath houses, garage spaces and more. Tepper is also the newest member of D.C.'s queer underground collective The NeedlExchange (TNX). TNX aims to bring queer nightlife back to its underground roots. You can next catch Tepper on April 29th for a joint ROAM and TNX party, and on May 20th for ROAM XI featuring Matrixxman.

Sami - "Planing"

This one is Sami's first release on DC-based mega-label Future Times! Talk about an auditory trip. This track breaks ALL the rules. Sami's got some serious talent – and I'm not just saying that because he's 1/3 of ROAM. In addition to being musically-inclined (that's him jammin' on the flute), he also runs left-field house/techno/dnb/everything label 1432R. This one's available for the public to download on May 5th.

Rush Plus - "Ten"

This is the second release from DC-based experimental techno duo Rush Plus. These guys are some of my favorite producers in the area right now. They're constantly taking risks in their productions and have no shame in getting down and dirty with their warehouse-suited brand of techno. They're not ones to follow trends and I give them respect for that. Plus, they're fun to hang with, too.

Octo Octa - "Where Are We Going Pt. 2"

I'm really excited for the come up of Octo Octa. This is a light, airy tune sprinkled with beautiful piano riffs and synths. It's a perfect groove for a daytime patio party: easy to get lost in and refreshing like a cold bottle of Sprite on a hot day (not sponsored).
