A Weekend in NYC and Toronto Through the Eyes of Apollonia

On Friday night, Apollonia embarks on an ambitious worldwide tour in support of their debut album, Tour à Tour.

Roughly translating as 'to take turns' or 'alternate,' the title is a gesture to Dan Ghenacia, Dyed Soundorom and Shonky's back-to-back-to-back DJing style. The boys have gone on record saying it "represents the idea of a continuous motion of music between us; a never-ending circle that flows and becomes hypnotic."

While Tour à Tour's global expedition begins at Output in Brooklyn, it was not long ago that Apollonia were last seen in New York City. Short of Dyed—who was stranded abroad due to a missed connection—they rocked Electric Zoo at the end of summer before flying to Toronto for the Summer Daze finale.

We gave Dan and Shonky a disposable camera in NYC that weekend and had them show us their transborder experience with this photo journal.

Shonky: On the way to Randall's Island for the festival, full of excitement and the New York sunshine.

Dan: Playing at Electric Zoo. It's mid-afternoon and the party is just getting into full swing…
