The British Masters Season 3, Chapter 1: David Rodigan

Following on interviews with Dizzee Rascal, John Lydon and Johnny Marr our British Masters series returns with The Reggae Connoisseur

In the first of a new series of The British Masters, host John Doran meets The Reggae Connoisseur, David Rodigan. They discuss how he fell in love with Jamaican music, how he realised smoking weed wasn't for him and the time a member of the crowd liked his DJ set so much they let off a gunshot.

In John's own words: "David Rodigan is one of the more unlikely famous figures in the history of Jamaican music being that he's a white, middle class Englishman. But as a DJ, Ram Jam has been plying his trade for well over half a century now and is loved by countless reggae devotees and performers the world over… and that's before we get onto the fans of grime, dubstep and drum and bass."
