Head to Joshua Tree for WurlD's Slick Video for "Show You Off" Featuring Walshy Fire and Shizzi

"I'll be honest, I can't keep my hands to myself…"

We might be freezing our nuts off here in NYC, but it's always summer somewhere. Especially in the bars of "Show You Off," and in the vast, sunbaked vistas of Joshua Tree where this video—premiering below—is set. Here's the deal with WurlD: he's a Lagos, Nigeria-born dude who wound up moving to America and studying computer science at Georgia State University. It was during his tenure at college that he fell for music, eventually releasing his debut LP Evolution back in 2013.

These days he's based in Atlanta and last year he teamed up with Major Lazer's Walshy Fire and Afrobeat producer Shizzi to create "Show You Off." Unsurprisingly it's nothing to do with Chairlift's recent tune of the same name, but the sentiment is the same: You're so into your boo you wanna shout about it. And, like, probably have sex constantly with said boo. Maybe we're projecting here, but to be frank, we'd put money on this.

In any case the song is dope—a slick cut that marries R&B and reggae, a skippy beat, and some tropi-pop brass. Meanwhile the video is magically lit in pink-hues (apropos for VDay) and moody greens and reds. WurlD spends the duration justifiably captivated by his love interest, Mariama Diallo.

"My Goal is to make songs thats beyond just music," explains WurlD. "I think its amazing when a artist find simplistic ways to fuse music, fashion, art, and culture. 'Show You off' is a celebration of these values. Collaborating with Walshy Fire and Shizzi seemed so effortless because we had similar goals, which was to create a record that can be relatable in a diverse world we live in. I feel blessed and humbled to see how the fans have received 'Show You Off' since its release. looking forward to sharing more music!"

Watch the video below and don't forget to tune into VICELAND for the season finale of Noisey. Tonight we head to Lagos to explore the origins of Afropop. Plus we meet up with Nigerian music stars Tiwa Savage and Maleek Berry.

Special shouts out to WurlD's mint green hair.
