EB&D IN PR

A few weeks ago we flew down to San Juan where writer/director Jody Hill and co. are currently sweating rum-steeped balls and shooting a new season of Eastbound & Down. NBD. Our arrival pretty much played out how we envisioned it: two lush palm fronds splayed open like flora-labia onto a gorgeous ocean vista. Pelicans glided in the distance. And there was Danny McBride, arguably the realest thing to happen to American comedy since Belushi danced to Fear. And there was the mullet: super-conditioned, classic yet signature. McBride was sitting in a black set chair between takes, bullshitting with producer Chris Henchy and crew. I walked over to break the ice. "Looks like we're the only assholes wearing jeans on this set," I said, dripping wet from the heat. McBride laughed. "Yeah, but I'm in character." With that, he went to film a scene requiring no fewer than three expert "fuck"s. We took a prolonged glance around, the season's epicness already apparent. It was then we noticed the back of his chair. It read "KENNY POWERS."

For those who don't know, Season 2, premiering on September 26 on HBO, takes place primarily in Mexico. (Puerto Rico is subbing in.) We'll have much more for you later. For now, here's an exclusive pic of Stevie Janowski (actor Steve Little) greeting our readers alongside a mean-ass new character, played by a dude some of you might recognize. We also threw a couple gems of KfuckingP up for you too.

(PS: the season contains seven episodes/chapters. Not eight as everyone else is reporting. See, we know more stuff about this stuff than other people do.)
