Jackson Politick Knows the Sorrows of 2017 City Life

Watch a new video from the alter ego of Oakland punker Andy Human.

"It's the same, but I gotta say it.” Andy Human, frontman of Andy Human and The Reptoids and guitarist of Oakland’s The World, continues his lo-fi pop exploration with Jackson Politick, a new project that deals with modern paranoia and discontent.

On his new track and video "This Town (Sorrow in the City)", jerky guitar and a pulsing pop melody props up biting lyrics of modern life. When he sings "sorrow in the city" he speaks for everyone living in a metro centre in 2017 where rent and public transport prices grow higher and wages and public morale remain in flux.

The lo-fi video matches the lo-fidelity of the song as bright patterns wash over grey footage of city commuting. Imagine 3 Foot High and Rising if De La Soul rode the BART.

'Paste v. 1.' is available now from Neck Chop records.
