Kirk Knight Shows off His Production Chops on Debut Black Noise Single "Young Ones"

Ahead of his upcoming European tour, the Pro Era member shares the first instrumental from his new soundscape project.

While he's best known as one of the key members of Joey Bada$'s Pro Era crew, Brooklyn's Kirk Knight is an incredibly versatile artist, as evidenced by his solo work (including last year's mixtape Late Knight Special) and work behind the boards for rappers including Mick Jenkins, Smoke DZA, and others.

After sharing his "Buck [$]" mix earlier this year, today we're premiering the first instrumental track from his new soundscape project Black Noise, which further showcases his production chops. The dreamlike beginning of "Young Ones" recalls a vintage J Dilla beat—one of Knight's primary inspirations—with the producer adeptly juggling more dissonant sounds in the song's second half.
